Semester Course Outline

As part of the graduate teaching certification program at Ryerson University, I was tasked with developing a course outline for a semester-long undergraduate course not yet in existence. I chose to focus on Ryerson’s Digital Media Experience (DME), and consider ways in which students may best become acquainted with the space & tools available to them in a 3-month time frame. I took a student-centered approach and began by defining objectives in terms of learning outcomes and scope, determining the appropriate teaching methods, and the best method(s) of assessment. The outline is thorough and includes learning outcomes, a course level evaluation breakdown, several course assignments, and a grading rubric for assignments.
